Fake soldier arrested by police, recover uniforms, others at lagos

 

The Lagos State Police Command on Sunday said its detectives arrested one for armed robbery after making himself as an army captain.

The person has said to have disguised as a military officer to lure unsuspecting victims and robbed them their valuables at gunpoint.

It was learnt that the 39-year-old man pretent presented himself as a modeling agent to lure ladies for auditioning after which they were robbed of their cars and other valuables.

Items including one Ford Edge SUV with registration number KRD 276 EG, a sewing machine, one POS machine with six SIM cards, two pairs of military camouflage uniform, one number plate with the number AFL469 GD, were recovered from the suspect’s house.

The Spokesperson for the State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday where he stated that the command acted after receipt of a complaint from one of Edwards’ victims whose identity remained undisclosed.

Hundeyin said, “Detectives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a fake Army Captain, Andy Edwards, ‘m’ aged 39 for armed robbery.
