New Kenya president have pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II

New President of Kenya, William Ruto, has paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II by signing a book of condolence at the British High Commissioner residence in Nairobi.

He mentioned that she became Queen in Kenya when she was staying at the Treetops hotel in 1952, which he described as "very sentimental" in a Donpinlins Global News interview and makes Kenya "associate with her being Queen", he said.

"We commiserate with the people of the UK, with the Queen's family and we also congratulate the new King in Britain," he add.

He also added "by God's grace" he would join the British people in the funeral.

He also spoke of the Common-wealth saying it "has brought many countries together" and as an organisation acts positively to help countries support one another.

He said going forward, the Common-wealth could "support the weaker countries" to make sure no countries are left behind.
