A tenth of Burkina Fasos dead by conflict by aid groups

 

Aid groups said is about a tenth of the population of Burkina Faso has been displaced by conflict.

More people fled during the first half of this year than in the whole of 2021.

Six-hundred-thousand people face acute food scarcity, nearly double the number from last year.

This year's agricultural season has been described as catastrophic.

Aid workers say the local population does what it can to house and feed the displaced, but they are too poor to meet their own needs, let alone those of others.
